Biggest Loser!

So hopefully every has had a chance to read Rachel's email (thanks Rachel!). Today starts the big day of our four-month challenge!!

What I'd like to do now is get some ideas of what we could do for our weekly challenges so everyone has a chance to suggest something. Then, we'll have one challenge a week to really improve our eating and/or other daily habits. Some of the things that Rachel suggested were:

-No chocolate, desserts, soda for a week.
-Eating at least one piece of fruit each day.
-No eating out for a week (I know who will have the most trouble with this one!)
-Giving up a favorite food that isn't the best for you.
-Drinking a certain amount of water throughout the day

So if anyone has some other great ideas, please let us know so that we can get this weight-loss party started!! We could probably start our first challenge next week, we'll just focus on the working out this week.
And yes, this is a competition and we are going for the grand prize at the end, but remember what Rachel said! We're here to encourage each other and to become a healthier and more fit family!!

One of my suggestions for a challenge is to cut late night snacking. No snacking after you have eaten dinner. (You'll sleep better because your gut isn't going into over time trying to digest the food.)

Maybe we could do that one a couple times!

Also, what if we did a weekly challenge of working out 4 or 5 times instead of just three for that week?

all such great ideas, but my stubborn ways says that if we give up one of our favorite foods then it should only be for a week :)

It will only be for a week! We'll just do one challenge a week so it won't be crazy overwhelming. I was confused at first too when Rachel first mentioned it so I wasn't very happy about the no sweets thing!

So, yes, one challenge at a time, for only one week at a time!

Another one I have is along the lines of working out, but do somesort of a strength training video 3 times a week. this could be pilates, yoga, usana, whatever. Do what you can, but building muscles helps you burn more fat.
